Funny Button name I know but I get some questions like.....what is the difference between french seam and top stitch? Whats what? So thats where I will start. A french seam is top stitched on both side of a seam. Top stitched is generaly known as one seam stitched on top of the seam. Have you looked on the net for yardage needed for your sofa and or chair....then to have an upholsterer tell you that you need 3 or four yards more than the chart you looked up...whats what! First of all we have to make allowance for pattern repeat and or how big the pattern is. Second....I think those charts are out of date...we have the biggest chairs and sofas today than any listed on most of those charts. More to come later!!
